What’s it like to work with Paisley Photography at a wedding or event? Let me tell you this: I’ve got it under control. No really. I’m a super planner and thrive on details, so when I’m photographing your wedding, bar mitzvah, or large event, it’s like having another event planner in your corner.

Before

Before your big event, I’m going to ask you for a few things. Good news is they are things you are probably working on for someone else or are already thinking about: your timeline for the day, a list of your must-take pictures, and names of the vendors involved in your wedding or event (such as DJ, caterer, etc.).

I’m going to check in with you two weeks before your wedding or event to find out all the final details, especially if there are any special photography rules (common with a church wedding or synagogue); finalize the schedule, and simply see how you are doing and how I can make your day easier. After that, I’ll see you on your big day!.

Day of

I’ll meet you at your first location—whether it’s your home, the salon, or the ceremony site—at our scheduled start time (probably earlier). From there, I’ll start doing my thing. I’m chatty, but not intrusive. I want you to feel comfortable with my presence and the camera. You don’t need to smile and pose every time I aim the camera in your direction; you just need to be you and go about your business.

I’m going to take pictures of everything. You might think it’s weird when I take your shoes and pose them in the sunlight or zoom in really closely to . It’s all part of the experience. We’ll do some posted shots, too, if time allows. Then it’s on to the ceremony!

I’ve been told I’m pretty amusing to watch during the ceremony. Take my word for it; don’t pay attention to me. Actually, you won’t even know I’m there. Really. I’m on the move the entire time, running up to lofts, squatting in aisles, slinking around the outer perimeter to get every angle of every moment.

After the ceremony, it’s time for the posed pictures. I don’t mess around; I move this portion of your day along as quickly as possible because you have a party to get to.

At the reception, go cut loose! Don’t be surprised if I’m on the dance floor with you. No, you won’t find me doing the electric slide (though I enjoy dancing); I’ll be out their capturing the moves of you and your family and friends (and hoping getting you a few shots that you will find wildly entertaining later). This is also the time for your family and friends to grab me to take any group shots they are hoping to have taken. I’m happy to do it and they’ll be able to order copies when you send them the online gallery later.

When the night is over, don’t be surprised if I hug you goodbye—after all, I feel like part of the family after the awesome day we’ve just had!

After

I’ll be in touch within a few days to let you know when your pictures will be ready, share package information, and schedule your viewing party to preview your pictures (about 6 weeks later).

At your viewing party 6 weeks later, you'll get a first look at all your fabulous photographs! You'll also get to preview all of the wall art and photo creations available to you for ordering. If your package includes and album or you would like to add one (or more) on, we can chat about album design options at this time, too.

Your custom USB with all of your high-resolution digital files will be provided to you at this time as well as a custom link to your online gallery, which you can share with your family and friends so they can order their favorite photos, too! Of course, I strongly encourage you to share your favorite images on social media, being sure to give @PaisleyPhoto a few props when you do.
